As we continually (in Google style) pilot different features silently and remove what's not used we are looking at replacing the current Events system which is seldom used by anyone other than myself with a more simplified Calendar system.
It will be entirely thread/post based so rather than going to Events to create an event (which in turn creates an automated event thread), you would create the thread and mark it as an Event and it would take you to a screen where details can be filled out.
