Sorry for all the separate posts but one thread would be too heavy with many photos. 
Wifes 86 Blazer. The factory 305 didn't stand up to pulling an old wood holiday trailer. The motor gave up the ghost in Yoho National Park. Good thing it was sort of on the way home from Kalispel. A buddy had a 454 taking up space in his shop so the swap was made. Dual exhaust, re-built transmission (Borg Warner gutz), and a couple of rear differentials later, PRESTO! I finally learned how not to floor the gas all the time!
We went everywhere with this combo. A couple of trips to the Yukon and all over northern BC. One trip to the USA, central BC and all over Alberta a few times. Good family times with my three girls.
