The display stayed on as did the radio. If I recall correctly I started the car and then shut it off. I can't remember if I then delayed the update or it wasn't offered again immediately.

Updates aren't offered until they are downloaded. I must assume they have a checksum so the download should not be corrupted. Usually the updates are offered when you shut off the car. (or is it when you put it in park?) Anyway, the update won't happen until you confirm you want it and the car is shut off. This is when the update screws up and leaves the radio and display on. I now always go back in an hour to make sure it succeeded. If I ever get another update that is. lol

I wonder if the update data eats into the 72 GB’s that come with a new unit and if it would make a difference if the vehicle was connected to your house wifi. Then again wifi use would probably deduct from the 72 GB as well. If I weren’t so lazy I’d dig through the owner manual. I have had a couple of updates happen without any prompting to approve them. Google ones if I recall.
