Great Read! Very entertaining but I doubt it will ever happen. As awesome as the C6 ZR1 is, I believe it was a hard sell and I can't see GM making another expensive Vette.... but I hope I am wrong!!!! The picture of the Mid Engined ZR1 from the back is just sick.
The present Corvettes are nearly a 50-50 weight bias. Can't do much better than that. Check out an Audi R8 for luggage space. Virtually NONE. I'll stick with what I have.

Ugh! I can't believe they are thinking about going back to round tail lights. How retro. 
Certainly didn't want to upstage you Tony. It's just the article I found had pictures. But $150,000 for this C8 ZR1 that isn't even as fast as the C7 zo6. ???

Now for a Corvette Mid Engine there is always the Factory Five GTM, which uses a C5 as the donor car and a porsche tranny.
