Ron Fellows Driving School Spring 2021 Invitation for Canadian C8 Owners

Hello all. I'm planning to attend the Ron Fellows Driving School this coming Spring (March or April 2021) and I'm wondering if anyone would care to join me. We might be allowed a group of up to 12 people and I'd be pleased to attend with other CCF members in the Edmonton area or anywhere else in Canada. I've now set up a profile with the school and they've agreed to keep me posted when the Spring dates open up. Right now they're booking into the end of February and I'm told that the March, April and May dates in particular are snapped up fast. They should open up March dates in about a month. This will be for the Level 1 course (beginner level).

Keep in mind that COVID will likely still be around by then, so this is not only a commitment for the US$1,000 GM subsidized cost, 2 or 3 days of your time, the flight there/back plus other travel expenses, but also quarantining for 14 days after your return. I'll be planning my vacation time to coincide with this. Even if you're retired, the circumstances these days make this a more onerous endeavour and you have to be willing to accept the risk. My understanding is that there may be no health care travel insurance that will cover you for COVID. You also have to accept wearing a mask for many hours at the airport and during all flight time, which my spouse says isn't a pleasant experience. You only have a year to take advantage of this driving school, from the date you took possession of your C8 and so far, there's no indication that will change due to COVID. Check out the Spring Mountain website for more details:

Let me know if seriously interested within the next 3 or so weeks, by PM or posting on this thread. Depending upon the interest, I'll see if the school will book a group together, when the dates open up. If so, everyone will need to set up your individual profiles with the school and provide your VIN. I'll also try and coordinate dates that work for anyone interested, by contacting all.

Note: I tried to see if they'd extend the school into a third day for an extra cost but I was told no. Too bad given the effort to get there and back. Thanks and I look forward to hearing back from those interested.

The program is very tight and regimented and is called the C8 Corvette Owners course. If you want to economize on the flights you could investigate the availability of the level 2 driver courses that may align back to back. Spring Mountain is an incredible facility for the driver car enthusiast. Multiple Tracks on the program and other concurrent training programs are run. When we were there, there was still a class of C7 owners being held. I would certainly look at the Level 2 course in the future. A great time was had. Highly recommend this for all.

I'd love to be able to go in the spring or early summer .. I just won't be able to swing it , if the two week quarantine process is still in place . It's too bad we only get 1 year to get the discounted rate

I wonder if people in your position should contact the driving school and/or GM to see if there's any chance that 1 year could be extended. I suspect not since it could create a back-log but perhaps it's worth trying and if enough people ask, who knows?

I can't see that being a problem ( to extend ) as they are only making 20 000 of the expected 40 000 run of C8's this year and 2021 won't be that much better with a January start date instead of September. Doubt a backlog as Covid will keep many home and new C7 purchases will be done.
