Too funny, my brother booked us a car for when we go to NHRA drags in Phoenix on the 22nd. He booked a Mustang GT convertible through TURO where you rent someone's personal car. In the notes to the owner he put down. " I own a Mustang GT California Special and my brother owns a Ford dealership" Funny he never mentioned my Corvette haha.

I had to go see what I could rent in San Fran. And as if dreams are free, I went to the $250-$350 per day range. All the cars I would expect are there. Aston Martin, BMW, Jag, Audi, Nissan, Maserati, Porche,Tesla, Viper. And then wait, what? Jeep Wrangler, Ford F150, and a Dodge Ram. That was funny. And there are still some interesting cars in the $50-$60 per day range.

Glad you mentioned Turo. Never heard of it. Never imagined anyone would want to rent their favorite car to a stranger. But I will be checking them out next time I need a rental.
Pretty neat idea and yes I wouldn't rent my car to a stranger either, especially a high performance car. The prices are close to regular rental car but none of the ridiculous fees they charge at airport locations. Hence the advantage. TURO owners are not welcome at most airports of course as they haven't figured out a way to monetize it yet. You may meet in a local parking lot like your doing a drug deal haha. A few Corvettes on the site for 100ish a day. We paid that for a new Corvette in Vegas after some negotiating. SIXT is another good company to check out. You can often rent a Mercedes there for the same rate that others charge for an Impala/Taurus type car.

Probably has several cars: business proposition??

Rent the Aston Martin or Porsche?

Many Turo owners do rent several cars. It is obviously working out financially for some. Depending on the car, 5 or 6 rental days a month could cover your payment and maybe allow you to own a car you might otherwise have trouble affording

Looks like the guy that designed the Lexus grill took a stab at that one too. But it's quick. If I really had the kind of money to afford a $500 a day rental, I would add a fourth stall to my garage and park a '67 Big Block Coupe in it. Dreams are free.

But my next rental will be from Turo. Glad you brought it up.

We splurged in Vegas a couple years ago during SEMA and rented a Lamborghini Gallardo. 1200.00 for 24 hours. Bucket list item. It was a blast but you could tell it had been abused. Tires almost bald, quite a few scratches. I pointed them out to the guy so i wouldn't get blamed. He says " I'm only worried about aerodynamic changes". It was on it's second engine as well.

Update on Turo rental; We ended up cancelling our booking at a cost of 67.00 usd. The car owner said it would be a remote pick up and drop off but has not yet replied (5 days later)where that location would be even after we provided our location. Yes the rate was decent mostly because no fees and taxes but factor in 3 cab rides, time and inconvenience and a regular airport rental looks better. Got a Mercedes C class for 450.00 Canadian all in for 5 days through Sixt.
