Regulation Destroying The Viper

Interesting. So Dodge just found out about this now?

I agree that they may be using it as an excuse to end production. BUT I hope they don't end production. The Viper is a great car. It just got a tough start by poor marketing and dealers.

*Edit* I mean this latest generation had a tough start due to dealers.....and there might be a bit in there with the Z06 being such a great car.

You could very well be right Riley. The low production numbers wouldn't even cover the electricity bill on the plant. It would be sad to see the viper go. There needs to be a healthy competition out there.

Never been a viper fan, regardless of the success that car has at the track. The look is very outdated and they have simply been rewriting the same song year after year...since what..the late 90's when that bodystyle was introduced. They needed a change. As much as I might like the amazing paint job and hand built machine, doing this will not provide competition and the Z06 ate it alive on release....so much so that Dode had to drop pricing just to compete. Imagine being a proud Viper buyer waiting for your car and you find out next years model has more, but is 15K cheaper. Next imagine learning that your car remains the same price you bought it at, but if you trade it in...at a market depreciated price, they will give you a coupon for 15K off the next one. Ya right...

Les, I think GM did the same thing to Canadian C5 buyers. I find it odd that the current list price of the C7 is less than the list for the C5.

We too paid a price for "alterations" to the pricing of Corvette. A price that there is no hope of ever recovering
