Huge thanks to all post replies. Tried a couple places a little more local and either got no return reply or the dollars didn't make sense. Finally ordered the Corsa Sport and a VaraRam from Manny at DaSilva... can see why lots like him... really helpful... Patiently waiting now for the knock on the delivery door... Have an install lined up for the Corsa... the VaraRam install scares me a bit....I have trouble setting a mouse trap let alone trying to follow the VaraRam install directions. The whole shroud removal/cutting thing scares the hell out of me.... ok.... so I'm honest....Know of any shops around that have installed this type of CAI? Contacted Davenport and they said thanks but no thanks....

Did you ever put it on? If so who did the cutting? You notice any seat of the pants increase in the butt dyno?

Hey Tim. Sorry. I'm on my mobile sitting in a motel on Prince Albert, on my way to northern Manitoba. I never put it on. Sold it about 3 months ago. Vararam says up to 39 hp increase. There is or at least use to be a before and after dyno chart somewhere on line. The dyno shouldn't be representative for a ram air intake anyway as the moving vehicle is part of the forced air idea. 39 sounds high but I dunno. Manny at Dasilva should be able to give you an idea.

Really liking the ease of installation and quality of the halltech super bee and the beehive!

Thanks Nathan but it worked out for the best as I sold it instead of it going with the car.

And Tim. The ease of installation for some of the CAI units is a bonus for those of us (meaning me), who aren't super comfortable cutting away pieces of shroud within millimeters of the rad....lol... Is the Haltech you are considering a ram air, or just a cold air intake system. I gotta think that any of the ram airs will require an opening cut through the shroud, but what do I know....lol....

On the install video I watched there was no cutting. But some other posts say you have to cut a couple holes in something for turbulent airflow and mass air reading issues....but then I learned the kit has been revised at some point...maybe to address that issue??? Ugh...who knows. Gave up worrying about it as the funds dried up fast after scoring a set of tires I don't need yet lol!
