Rapid Blue Exterior and Two-Tone Tension/Twilight Blue Interior May Be Gone for 2026

GM hasn't told Rick, or anyone other dealer, what colors will be available for 2026. They just don't do that. And you can't assume that because a color sells in small numbers GM will get rid of it, or that they will keep high selling numbers. GM has a long history of making color choices that seem incomprehensible to outsiders. Long Beach Red sold about as well as any color not Torch Red, Black or White in 2020, but they replaced it with Red Mist. Highlighter Yellow has never sold very well, but they kept it around for 5 years. Someone "in the know" who I trust tells me GM makes color choices a couple of model years ahead of actually making changes, often before they really know what sales are going to look like.

The 2027 colors were decided last month. Long Beach Red in 2020 was third from the bottom only ahead of Zeus Bronze and Accelerate Yellow and as soon as they switched to Red Mist the sales tripled in 2021 and has been a top 4 color ever since. Rapid blue has been a middle of the pack color with sales ranging from 6-9.1% and in 2024 it fell to it's lowest sales numbers since introduction on the C8. It has fallen to 5.3% which is the lowest percentage of production of the non cancelled colors at the end of 2024. It's gone after this year as 3 new colors are coming in June.

I'm thinking when GM decides to discontinue colours, they obviously have lots of paint left over, and then they just let the paint staff mix it all together and that's a new upcoming colour for next year.:Biggrin::Biggrin:
Based on past colour deletions, it is the opposite. You will see customers whom love that colour and were thinking about maybe purchasing a 2026 jump the gun and purchase the 2025 because that is their personal favourite or they don't have a car yet but that is the only colour they would happy with.

This happened with several of the dropped 2024 colours.
I noticed that GM have said that the colour was only available until said date via similar reporting channels and I believe that three of the dropped colours had sold out over a month before it officially was first reported the colour production car orders would stop.

That paint retails hundreds of dollars per gallon so they don't want to have any extra left at the end.

I'm a fan of Carbon Flash Metallic (black with Pixie dust), but not everyone likes it, and that's just fine by me.
That is the colour of my car. I was originally going black until it came available for the 2024 model year.
Every vehicle I have owned has been black for the last couple of decades so I though I would try it as it perfectly matches the Carbon Flash Metallic accessories and fixtures on the car. Very happy with it.

As for 'fresh' colours, isn't it time for a return of a dark green? - That always looks great on an older model.
Any shade of green doesn't sell well on Corvette making them a one year colour.
Carbon Flash Black and Ceramic Matrix Grey were supposed to disappear for 2024
but they carried two extra colours for that model year and we paid the price in 2025.
We will return to 12 colours in June for 2026.

Yes, mine is 100% co-ordinated.
Some will tell you that you lose the lines with this colour - I say I know where the lines are already.
