Wondering if others have experienced this. Our car left the factory July 10 and went to Toledo. Originally it had a date of Aug 5-8 to be in Edmonton.
So far so good, even a week ago it showed that. Now it is still in Toledo and shows delayed pending pickup... any ideas??

Your car missed the previous train to Chicago. Have your dealer look for the current location of the car, and then have them call order management to find out what's going on and why your car has been sitting for a month. It amazes me that the dealers just sit on their hands rather than do something just waiting for cars to arrive.

Wes, what did you find out? Do you know if they called order management to find out why the car has sat for over a month now? Why was it taken to Toledo instead of being put on a train in Bowling Green headed to Kansas City or Chicago? That is the right direction, Toledo is the wrong direction to you in BC.

Well he did say it was shipped by truck tansport to Toledo{sounds like a massive GM holding yard), he doesn't know why it went from being shipped Aug 5-8th to the change of delay-pending pickup and hasn't had any luck contacting the right people in the past. I did mention the rail strike is a possibility next week so the sooner the better. Any ideas?

Did he call GM order management or can his General Manager of the dealership call GM order management to find out why your car was taken in the wrong direction to sit for a month? Your salesman sounds totally stunned. Perhaps you now need to ask for someone to make a call for you or call Jack Cooper in Vancouver who handle deliveries to the dealership out of their Vancouver office.

Just to clarify, we live in BC but the vehicle is being shipped to Edmonton where we ordered it.
Yes, your car was sent in the wrong direction. It needs to get to Chicago next. From there it will go to Winnipeg, Saskatoon and then on to Edmonton. From there it will carry on to Vancouver.

We are hoping to go to Edmonton and drive it home when it arrives at the dealership. Would be a great way to break it in. This possible rail strike might throw a wrench into this again.

If it was my car, I would have taken over and it would have arrived last week. It will be a beautiful drive if you can get your dealer to do something!

@Mr.Corvette - any idea what the average in-transit time is from the plant to Ontario if a car was produced this week?
Lately it has been 8 days on the ones I have been tracking if it is going to SW Ontario or GTA dealerships that have direct shipping. Some dealers still have cars offloaded in Ingersoll and they come up to 2 weeks later on a different truck.

Toledo has been the train transload site for Corvettes destined for western Canada for the least the last decade. I have a E-Ray that was released to Bowling Green on July 31, and it sat for 2 days but was immediately trucked to Toledo. My E-Ray sat there until just now when I watched it load to a train this morning. As I am writing this, I can see the train moving onto the main line destined for Chicago on Norfolk Southern Rail. I'm guessing that you may be on this train as well. The big question is whether it may be further delayed with the potential rail strike.

Mine was in Regina yesterday and is scheduled for delivery on August 22..................not holding my breath because of that date.
But on the good side, I may get to keep my money longer before donating it to GM......................................

Sure hope it is but nothing from the salesman and he has been good in letting me know if it moved or not. Doesn't sound like much is going across the border now. No rhyme or reason on the movement as mine was out of Bowling Green on July 10. Thanks and hope you get your Vette soon.

How were you able to get this view? I have an order number but that's it. Salesman has shared a screen shot of it in Toledo.

On 2015, I purchased a factory ordered Z06 to be delivered in Winnipeg. It was transloaded by rail in Toledo, originally through Norfolk Southern and then transferred to Canadian Pacific with a handoff in Chicago. I am assuming that the same thing is happening with my E-Ray, though the current Canadian carrier could be Canadian National, depending on the latest contract. Problem is the probable strike. Norfolk Southern will fulfill their part of the delivery to Chicago, since it has no impact to a Canadian strike. I'm guessing the Canadian carrier will handover the train in Chicago and then park the railcars until a strike is resolved. I'm not expecting to see my delivery for at least a month.

I believe that every Corvette purchased comes with a free, three-year subscription to OnStar, or at least it definitely does for E-Rays. Once you have a confirmed order, your dealer can activate your subscription, and then download the myChevrolet app. From this point on, you have a real time map wherever your Corvette is located.
