Production halted...

The way they were talking it sounded more like a specific "in demand" piece of hardware. Like the Z51 spoiler or something like that. They don't want to "remove things from the build like they did with the High wing and carbon flash stuff".

So about the time they get rolling again gm is going to stop shipping corvettes to Canada. That will probably be the last of the 2020s built for us . Then I assume everyone is rolled over to 2021s , so how far back do you think the original 2021 orders will be pushed?

My understanding is that they'll continue to make 2020's for Canadians to fulfill their "status 3000 production commitment" however they'll ship any remaining 2020's to Canada in the Spring of 2021. Those getting them will still be driving their C8's before the 2021's get to Canada. That assumes they're able to make all 20,181 of the promised 2020's.

There is a big difference between "my understanding" and facts...

Obviously. But for the delayed deliveries to turn into 2021's, GM would have to halt production of the 3000 series 2020's, which would be an about face for GM and further burden the 2021 production. As set out in my post, that's the basis of "my understanding". I was just trying to be helpful and give a different point of view to that expressed by "crazylegs". But to placate my critics (LOL), I've now posed the question to Morgan Crosby and will provide his answer, assuming he replies.

lam pissed but on another note even lf l got my car in January lt would not see the road till March and the way the Loonie is rising in value we may save $5000 on the price. When it comes to the C8 nothing suprises me any more but lf l do not have it by March there will be a German sports car in my driveway .

Morgan says in the past, Corvettes made but not shipped for winter reasons stayed in Kentucky until Spring and so far, GM is committed to making all 2020’s at 3000 status. While that’s the current situation, GM may make an exception and change that.

Murray St. Kitt's gets hammered with more snow than here in the hammer...
True, but it's milder. Anyway, So does Michigan and northern parts of the U.S. so I don't see why they should stop to Canada and not those places
