When we are so lucky to go on a trip somewhere else we have to take in to account that other peoples in other countries can have different priorates than our squirrel cage type. We, usually, work so we can at some time enjoy our labours.
When in Grenada on a project with CIDA they had to let a guy go after he had "borrowed" a pickup for the weekend and rolled it.
His outlook on losing his employment was that as long as he had a few chickens, a mango tree and a bottle of rum for the weekend life was OK. He got the bottle of rum by helping the fishermen until he had enough to buy his booze.
Don't think the guy above had his priorities straight ether but that is for him to decide.
