PPF on the boomerang?

I guess what I’m looking for is…. for the people that did PPF on your car was the boomerang done as well?
I did it. They stick out so I thought I should do it. However, it is replaceable so. YMMV

I had PPF on the front half including door handle indents and mirrors on a 2005 SLK350. At 15 years the PPF was showing typical wear so I decided to remove it in prep to trade the car. I was amazed at how well the paint was preserved and how much abuse the PPF had absorbed. The door handle indents on the driver side were unmarked but the passenger side were quite scratched (she wears rings).

My ruminations and results regarding PPF with C8 coupe:

1. The PPF on my SLK performed exactly as expected and the car paint looked new at 15 years. I traded for top dollar.
2. The areas of the car without PPF had small scratches etc as expected.
3. The PPF installer was going to do a paint correction so suggested driving for a week or 2 to see what got affected.
4. Small stones/twigs/sand etc really hit the rockers.
5. The rear of the car got dirtiest.
6. The upper rear after opening trunk is quite high and susceptible to scrapes putting anything in the trunk. Or cleaning the engine area/rear glass etc.
7. I knew the coupe top would be off and on a lot as it was with my C4. Taking the top off the C4 I managed to scrape the top and the rear trunk.
8. The boomerang will suffer from anyone wearing rings and unfamiliar with opening the door.

So I decided to do front, mirrors, rockers, top, rear, boomerangs .... oh well do the whole car.

Results: yep I scraped the top and rear taking the coupe lid off and the self healing PPF worked.
I got some major rock chips in the front and the PPF bunched up and healed.
One lady (with studded jeans) decided to pose sitting on the front hood and slid off it. I started to cry but PPF worked.

I also use turtle wax ceramic hybrid twice a year and the car looks pristine at 7000 km. Its so slick that the indoor satin cover would not go on until I looped a corner under a tire.

I’m having PPF installed on my car and was wondering if many people put it on the boomerang as well?? It’s up fairly high so I’m sure if it would be needed.
I did full wrap but did not do the boomerang or the Corvette test on the back.

I ordered an aftermarket OEM high spoiler. The guys doing the wrap said they would do the wing for me at no extra charge.

P.S. There is LOTS of room to negotiate on the price of the wrap, at least in Edmonton.
