Much opinion and little fact has been brought to bear on the phenomenon (real? where can one see the reports?) of power loss following brief track use of new Z06s. A possible ECU-based reason is suggested by the 3-page "2014 Corvette Stingray Track Preparation" official guide offered by Corvette for the Z51 user. Under "Attain the right mileage - Track or competitive driving", it says under "Time period - First 1500 miles (2414 km) - Do not participate in track events, sport driving schools or similar activities". Placing the PTM controller in a track mode might alert the ECU to nefarious intentions on the part of the driver and cause it to limit power.

I am sure by now some z06 owners have more miles on their cars.
Would be interesting to hear from them if your hypothesis has proven correct or wrong.
