Hope this is not one of our members. Park like this and your looking to get dinged for sure(took up 2 spots and parked on angle). Nice C5 btw

Let me rephrase that...He is looking to get keyed

I can't condone it but I do understand why he would do it. No worse feeling then getting back to your car and finding a nice door ding (well maybe an ulcer is worse):(. They are expensive to repair too.

I do the same thing ocassionally........depending on the parking lot........if its a huge lot and hardly no one in it and I'm only running in for a half hour or so to get something I don't see a problem especially if I park way at the far end of the lot.

Tons of spots back there no need to angle it and take up 2... I park way back there also when there is a big parking lot but only take up 1 spot and park normal. If he keeps doing that someone at some point is going to walk by and key his ride.

I park at the end of the row if possible so that only one door can get dinged. I don't bother taking the Corvette shopping but do take it out for dinner once in a while. I'd rather park on the street. Not much chance of door dings. We always back into parking spots. No chance of cleaning off the license plate or air dam. The car already has scrapes from running up onto curbs but the previous owners didn't have a plate on the front. When I see someone pulled in frontwards, the first thing I think of is amateur driver who can't back up.

I've found most people are respectful around a nice car and actually will park a bit further away. I never angle my car as I feel it's just an invitation for someone having a bad day to take it out on my paint. I drive my car and every once and awhile something will happen. Fact of life. I always shake my head when I see someone parking like this.

Yup ... angle parking and taking up two spots is just asking for trouble ... :nono:

So true. It goes from someone admiring your car to someone thinking that you are a d**chebag pretty quickly.
There have been the odd time where I have parked in a spot within the lines far away in an almost empty parking lot and some clown with a beater will park right next to me.
It doesn't happen often but it does/has happened. Enough so that my girlfriend has made comments. My best friend's dad did a partial frame off restoration on his '59 Vert and he runs into the same thing in Parry Sound. Just nature if the beast I guess.

Around here, when some one parks crooked, intentionally or otherwise, we kid them that they must be from Lindsay. The main street is extra wide and has angle parking. It's normal for those folk. :)

I reaaaally try to resist angle parking. I've heard of people targeting cars parked on angles because people think they think they are better than everyone else. I try to just park as far away from everyone as possible and hope people have enough respect not to damage my car.

End spots for me where possible, and the near side tires are very close to the end meaning the other side has lots of extra space to the line. Someone has to be a real asshat to get close to the car then.

I've been very lucky so far with no dings or other damage and I also get a lot of exercise walking to the front door of my destination.:D

I hate parking close to an entrance -- and that's usually where the people who don't give a rats arse park and allow their kids to open doors carelessly, followed closely by the parents

I park in the 'back 40' and usually see other nice cars there too.

Another thing I do is park beside the nicest car I see in the parking lot if I don't have open space. Odds are pretty good that they want their car to stay nice too. ;)

I always park in my parking spot properly but I have my car wired with a proximity switch that causes the car to explode if someone opens their door against it...never have to fix the ding that way:rofl:
