Thinking of painting my Calipers on my blade silver c6...I was going to do the typical red but then thought yellow or blue might look nice........... Just for fun....What do you think?

Cheers...

Kevin

Kevin, I think spring can't come soon enough for you. Painting the callipers is an easy job and usually ends up looking good. I like the red myself but I have seen a lot of colours that look good.

Is it that obvious lolololol!

Come spring I will forget about all these ideas and just drive...drive...drive ;-)

Ya....I am liking the purple as well...G2 makes a nice one...different and not that common. Pretty well anything will go with Silver.

I think you're right. silver is a pretty accommodating color. Have you thought of the dark grey/charcoal color? The purple is definitely interesting and uncommon, but, imo it may get a bit tiring after a while. Are you planning on doing it yourself?

Yes diy.....I want to get back into the game on a limited basis....detail wheel wells that sort of thing...I am not a mechanic but not a bad detailer.

Its not a bad DIY job... but, the prep work on the actual calipers has to be done right. The more time spent on cleaning and prepping usually equates to better final result! If you like detailing its 'already half in the bag' for you. Good luck and post some pics for us when done.

Lol !! No purple. That looks tacky. Seriously. Leave them original. You’ll look at those a couple of days in and say to yourself “what was I thinking”.

I agree with Paul, the more prep time the better the job. Any color works but some combinations are better than others. I painted mine to match the car but couldn't get high heat paint in orange. Found a link on the web that explained the process to use regular paint.Briefly the process is:
-Clean, Clean, Clean
- mask or raised lettering.
- Apply a base high heat white paint.Let dry.
- Apply regular automotive paint of your choosing. Let dry.
- Apply high heat clear.
Of course applying 2 to 3 coats deepens the finish and 3 to 4 is what I did with the clear. Brakes have been done now for 4 years and have lasted very nicely. Good luck on whatever color you choose!!
