So I decided to reach out to Owais after I saw others wondering what had happened to him. Turns out he left Leggat and is completely out of the car business. Seems that being the new guy on the block at Leggat was just too much and he decided to take job in telecom with steady pay and good benefits. I responded that I was happy that he was making out ok, but saddened that he could no longer practice the profession he was obviously good at. He also told me that he is getting a '17 Camaro SS, but I told him that can be forgiven and he should still come to the forum and say hello. :Biggrin:
Unfortunately looks like we have lost a great resource, but I'm happy things worked out for him.
 
Thanks for the update Joe. I agree he was a real asset to anyone looking to buy a new Corvette.

Oooops... I feel like a jerk for not posting some time ago. I have spoken to Owais a few times and, in fact, we met up at the International Auto Show. He told me much the same to include that he is happy with his decision to move forward. Sorry all.

Great news, I'm happy for him. Flip side is not so great for us who truly benefited from his passion, commitment and honesty.He was he best car sales man I've ever dealt/worked with.

He scores high on the Karma scale and I know it will continue just because of the type of person he is!
 
Funny situation. So much business owner invest bunch of monney in formation, coaching and other kind of support to make their sales persons to give them all the tools to provide a good buying experience to their customers, but dont necessarily keep the good one (their staff) or at least try to make them happy.
 
Glad to hear Owais is doing well! Hopefully he comes and visits with us and joins our sister site, the Canadian Camaro Forum, as well!
 
I didn't buy my car from Owais, but when GM raised the prices twice between ordering and arrival, Owais posted that there was price protection.
The dealer said there wasn't. So I phoned Owais, explained that I didn't buy my Vette from him, and asked if he would explain the price protection policy to me anyway.
Thanks to him, my dealer woke up and I was in fact protected. Terrific guy.
