The much hated and maligned Ontario Drive Clean Program was dropped today by the new Provincial Government. About time, it accomplished nothing except taking money from peoples pockets.

Finally... Wondering what cute program will replace it.

I'm in an unaffected area, but glad to see it got cancelled. It wasn't worth the effort/cost for the negligible benefit.

I read that shortly after the program was implemented the lack of value was recognized. The government considered cancelling it but was threatened with law suits by the garages who invested in test equipment. They decided to let the program run until the garages could recoup their capital investment. Just another waste of tax payers money and time.
