OnStar Theft Alarm Notification

Woke up to an email from onstart that there was a theft attempt at 6:46 AM on my C8 that was parked in a garage. When I unlocked the car later today it beeped 3 times and showed a “theft attempted” on the dash.

Anyone have this happen before?

Can’t find any record of the event in the app

I don't have onstart but it must be a shake of the car. Someone bumping it or an earth tremor.

Chalk it up to more bugs in the onstar system , not long ago everyone got a flat tire alert from them guys.

most likely it is exactly what happened, so OnStar can f*ck right off, because if I received a message like that when I was away from my car that would be problematic.

Did you check with Onstar for their explanation?

called OnStar, they said their system detected an "unauthorized entry attempt", but no other details such as usual "driver's door, frunk or trunk or broken glass" explanation. They said they don't know what to tell me, and that I should be happy that it was a false alarm IF that's in fact what it was.

Had it happen while working in my garage, and I bumped the car with my leg. Didn't take much. The vibration sensor or whatever it was that triggered the OnStar alert seems very sensitive.

I dropped my key fob in the open window onto the seat and it set it off . Got an email from OnStar regarding it.
