Just replaced the oil pressure sensor unit in my c5 was throwing crazy oil pressure readouts and low oil pressure warnings then shoot up to normal pressure, previous owner already cut a hole in the cowl so I used that method, replaced it Sunday now it’s Friday and it’s reading high 120-130 gauge is pegged at 80, is it a failed sensor again or something else?

I also have a pegged to the top oil pressure reading...
Sensor replacement has to happen - considering a hole to access.
Is there a map/diagram of what previous owners did to get the hole correct(?) or just wing it?

Thanks in advance!

Clive

Don:t hack your Vette. I had the same problem 2 years ago with my C5 and I removed the intake and did a proper job of it. The process took 45 minutes and I had never done it before. Doing it the correct way is very simple and you can install a remote sensor while you are at it. It takes longer cleaning plastic dust and debris from your engine after drilling the hole than it takes to do the job correctly.
