Oil Change

I have a 2024 z06 with 750 km and I got a display saying that I only have 5% oil life left and I need to have the oil change soon. Why would I need an oil change with only 750 km on the car?
It mostly just counts time. It's up to you. You don't want to void your warranty, but they wouldn't know if you tell them you changed it yourself. The first oil change is free though.

Well, it actually does a LOT MORE than just count time, but if rarely driven will count down to zero in 12 months. GM has been recommending oil changes at least every 12 months for much longer than Corvettes have had OLMs. But since most people don't seem to read manuals, it's now incorporated into the OLM software itself. Get out and DRIVE the car.

Thanks for the reply. I think I will get it changed next week. For the cost of an oil change versus having an engine problem

I was thinking about changing my oil myself because of how long it takes to get an appointment from dealers in Quebec. So yesterday I shop for C8 oil and the only place I find some is Amazon at 115.00$ for 6. A price increase of 15% from last year. So I keep shopping today and cannot find it anywhere but Amazon. But get this, the price is now 159.51$ for 6!!!!! With all those spywares they know when you come back and shop again for the same product Amazon does that often increasing the price because they figure you cannot find it elsewhere. I guess at that price I will wait for my appointment at the end of May.

Get from your dealer.

Clear your browser cache and find your desired product BEFORE you login to your Amazon account. You can also set a price alert using

It was $98.00 6 weeks ago. It will drop again.

Call / email them. They are a dealer. All dealers sell oil.
The local dealership here quoted me $32.00 a litre and a price of $745 to do an oil change. This is right after telling me that they can’t honour the included change provided by GM although the My Chevrolet app is saying time to change it and pointing me to the same dealership specifically under schedule service. Thieves. So I dropped by Jiffy Lube and he said oh , you have the oil and filter? I said yes and he said no problem. $75.00 .

745$ I phoned my dealership and they said 205 $ now, instead of 199. $

So we can change our own oil and still maintain our warranty? Documented with receipts is good enough?
Funny thing is when I bought my used 2023 Forte GT, they wouldn't allow me to do it myself even with receipts as proof. WTF lol..

Btw, I bought Mobil 1 Super Car @ Rock Auto. A little less than from Amazon.
