I'm going out on a limb here Ron and saying No; You're likely not the only one with Google. I suspect it's more a matter of the forum discussing this topic, Googling every word that's ever been written on it, and just throwing off the cuff opinions around here for the last several years... So many may think.... "done that, been there".... Or I might be wrong.... maybe they're all tired from the weekend.....

LOL - I can explain it. I just filled my tank with Hi-Octane at pretty much the highest price I can remember in a very long time. Didn't make me tired but cranky? ....... probably

Wow, “cheap gas”. $1.57 in Toronto.
Saskatchewan is doing relatively well with the pricing of Premium at $1.39 (I wish they'd just round up the tenth of a cent) but anyway, Alberta used to be the home of cheap gas. Seems the carbon tax took care of that.
Looks like the top brands are more... Costco, Superstore, Railway Gas appear to be the cheaper. Saskatoon Shell, Co-op, and Husky are advertising same as here. Costco here is $1.349
I have asked myself the same question sometimes on forums Ron. Nice article. I have talked to lots of guys that thought burning premium would give them more power. Hot Rod Magazine explained it all to me 45 years ago. I never forgot it.

I associate it to drinking bourbon, when 45 years ago, I thought the higher alcohol content would give me more power.... That didn't work either....and strangely enough resulted in more than a few knocks....
