I noticed my columns weren't exactly plumb to the floor. My worry is that they will hop.

When I have the lift at its highest setting there's a front pad gap on both columns on the wall side of my garage. I'll shim then anchor to be safe. Shims came with the lift.
It will only "hop" or "walk" when there is no load on it. It's interesting shims came with it. Mine did not. 4 post hoists IMO are the safest hoists around. With or without the shims it will be very safe. Mine came with wheels and I can move it around if I want so I would never bolt mine down. Too bad you can't just attach the shims without bolting it down.

Well I wasn't happy with the columns not being mounted to the floor and did that tonight. Anchors, a few shims and now she's tight!
