Greetings,

Just closed the deal last night on a 2004, white on red convertible. Needless to say I am bouncing between "what have I done" and "YESSSSSSSS".

First Corvette and first convertible..

Looked for a site where I could get good information, have a bit of fun, and still keep my blood pressure low. This place seems to fit the bill.

The car has about 24,900 kilometers and is in amazing condition (one owner).
I plan to keep it as a summer driver only and store it for the winter.

Now a bit about me...

I'm retired in my mid sixties, more than a few years ago my wife and mother passed away within two months of each other. Thanks to amazing friends I'm still here.

Three years ago I met a wonderful woman and my life has turned around. In simple terms I feel like I'm in my early thirties, life isn't good, it's great.

I know, more information than you need to know :).

Cheers

Welcome FP -- no worries on the "info" -- it's acutally quite similar to my circumstances and I too am feeling quite 'chipper' ...:D

That soft-top will shave a few years off you too (tho I've noticed getting in and out takes a little practice.:) -- but quite do-able.)

What convinced me to get my first vette was my brother's (first) -- an '06 rag. I was so impressed I went out and got mine.

Perhaps we'll bump into each other in the future. Let me know if you trip up to see Manny for repairs/mods and I'll come over and say hi.

Welcome once again and congrats.

FP Welcome to the forum. You'll find a wealth of info here. Great site with a lot of great people. Put up some pictures when you get a chance.

Congrats and a big welcome .

There is no feeling like driving a ragtop vette in the sunshine . Its what I live for :D

Enjoy the car and remeber to drive it often, drive it hard and put it away wet.

Ok, ok. I HAVE to ask. What is the meaning behind your forum name?:D

I'm sorry to hear about your misfortune with your wife and mother but glad to hear you found someone else that is special to you.

You'll love your car. White with a red interior is my favorite color combination. As stated, please post pictures and make yourself at home! Welcome to the forum!!!!

My forum name comes from the first car I ever owned, a British Ford Prefect.

Not my car but this is exactly what it looked like
modelpicture.php

I was 16 at the time and bought it (without my parents knowledge) from a local gas station,

I had no driver

That is fantastic that you bought a car without your parents knowledge AND you even made a profit with the car. Have you been partial to one make of car or have you had a lot of different cars over the years?

......or have you had a lot of different cars over the years?

I’ve been mostly a GM / Nissan person. Sort of an odd combo but I found a really good local dealership and they were very good to me over the years, especially with my late wife’s car lease. Cars I’ve owned include:

'50 Ford Prefect

’66 Pontiac Acadian (Canadian Version of a Chevy II) won a trophy at Niagara Drag strip with it.:D

’69 Z28 Camaro, next is the world’s most obvious quote “yes I do regret selling it”

’70 Beetle, the orange pumkin

’72 Datsun pickup, had American mag wheels on it, body rusted but the 1600cc ran forever. Cut the long floor shift back and put on a Hurst T handle on it. The whole package looked so bizarre for the early 70s (especially with the large tires on the back) that when the girlfriend and I went to Manitoulin Island for the weekend we got pulled over by the reservation police.

’78 Olds Cutlass, it had a half vinyl roof, loved it at the time, now I whenever I see pictures the word "pimpmobile" keeps floating into my head.

’87 Nissan pickup, 2wd
’91 Nisan pickup 4wd, another vehicle I wish I still owned

’91 Lumina, without a doubt the worst car I ever owned, brakes were crap x 100 and everything else went downhill from there.

This was followed by a string of 4 door Nissan Altimas
My current drive is a 2008 Altima coupe.

I'm amazed at how nice white is in this car and that we don't see more.

Someone looked after yours very well -- It seems flawless.

Yes the exhaust 'music' is intoxicating isn't it.....:driving:

Enjoy b4 the weather turns ugly.
