CCF is very proud to announce a brand new dedicated classifieds system to help getting your stuff sold and bought.

You will notice a couple of changes instantly. There's a new Classifieds drop down menu that will take you directly to the Classifieds engine.

Basic instructions:
  1. Whilst in the classifieds sceen, hit Add Classified to start the process
  2. Select category (Cars, Parts or General)
  3. Provide a title
  4. Provide a tag line
  5. Upload a custom icon for your ad, this will replace your avatar in the classified listing
  6. Specify Make, Model, Year and Mileage (these will show up above the main description)
  7. Put in a description
  8. Set a Location using the map screen, type in your town, or exact address and double click to place the pin somewhere
  9. You can optionally Make location private so that you only give it out to those who contact you at your discretion
  10. Specify price
  11. Only one package available, 30 days that's renewable
  12. You can optionally upload a file like a PDF scan of your carproof or something
  13. In the image gallery section at the bottom click upload images and upload multiple images (up to 20)
  14. Click Create Classified

Provided you filled in all the boxes a new thread will automatically created in one of 3 existing classifieds forums (Cars will be created in Vehicles for Sale/Wanted, Parts in Parts for Sale/Wanted and General in the General For Sale/Wanted)

Browsing classifieds:

You can use one of the many sub-menus to search, view recent activity, view your own listings and view watched categories and classifieds

Contacting seller:

Hit the classified you're interested in then press the Contact Advertiser button, this will start a private conversation (just like any other private conversation) with the seller)

Navigating the ad:

Each ad is comprised of the following sections:

Overview: - Shows car features, description, image galleries
Location:- Shows location of item if specified
Image Gallery:- Large image gallery of posted images
Discussion:- This takes you to the automatically created thread in the appropriate sub-forum, you can post questions, discussions etc. They will be visible to all

Selling tools:

If you've sold your item click on the big MARK AS SOLD button within the ad. This will automatically close the discussion thread also.

In the bottom right hand corner of each ad you have classified tools much like kijiji:
Edit ad, mark as sold, close, delete and so forth.

This is a bit of a beta at this stage so things could go wrong, please let me know if you see any obvious bugs or issues.

We will keep the existing forums and old classifieds for now. At the moment you are encouraged to list new ads using the Classifieds system.

Enjoy!

Looks great Nik! :Hurray:

Thanks boss. Already saw a couple of bugs that I'm working on (of course non-existent in my test environment :crazyeyes1:).

Eventually will build a rating system, location based searching and a bunch of funky features soon as we stabilize the patient :)

Keep in mind we will shortly disable the ability to post regular threads in the classifieds forums (we will add a button to post via the new Classifieds). All existing listings will remain and you will still be able to continue posting replies to those.

Alright girls and boys, I've dropped in a huge number of bug fixes, improvements etc to classifieds.

Right now all threads in the classified forums will actually kick off a classified entry (we will no longer use threads though as mentioned you can still edit or bump your existing for sale threads if needed). We fully encourage you to start listing your gear on the new Classifieds system and/or porting existing for sale threads to it. It's easy, free, makes searching and sorting so much easier.

New features:

1. 1252 bug fixes
2. New Grid view which you can switch to list view
3. Better filters for new/used/wanted/date etc
4. More search options (still adding more)
5. Better gallery images
6. Better thread handling and new thread indicators
7. Other things I forget

So chop chop use it before I start putting my wide selection of ipads up for sale and please let me know if you hit any issues.

I'm also looking for feedback on how I can improve this i.e. add more mandatory fields for parts, different colours that sort of thing.

Grrrrrrrreat Job Nik ....

Appreciate the compliments, it's coming along nicely. Once I get the rating/feedback system in place and add some good location filters it'll be in pretty good shape. All we need is the small detail of content now :) But I see a few are already starting to use it.

Trader rating and location based filters are almost ready. At the end of this CCF will have by far the most advanced forum based trading/classifieds system short of ebay (minus the crazy fees).
