As a new Corvette and c8 owner I'm just wondering I made selections under my mode and I put engine under track not sport did I make any sense that I somehow put it in track mode does it make a difference should I just put it in a sport under my mode I'm not sure what engine putting track under my mode makes any difference I would not want to somehow shut off stable control

Hello. There is a fair bit of information in the owners manual in the meantime you can take a look at the following. Hopefully this helps. The “ track “ mode setting which you can select from the rotary dial on the console is really not suitable for driving around town or the neighborhood but get on a track or nice winding road and that will give you the most performance available. A significant difference from all of the other modes . And lots of fun !

The C8 Corvette offers several drive modes and customizable settings through its Driver Mode Control (DMC) system to tailor performance and driving feel. These modes affect powertrain, suspension, steering, braking, and engine sound. The main preset drive modes are:
• Tour (default for everyday driving, balances comfort and handling)
• Weather (for slippery conditions like rain or snow)
• Sport (sharpens steering, throttle, and transmission for spirited driving)
• Track (aggressive settings for handling and powertrain on closed circuits)
In addition, the C8 features two customizable modes:
• My Mode: Allows personalization of engine sound, steering, suspension, brake response, and cluster display, ideal for daily driving preferences.
• Z-Mode: More advanced customization, including powertrain settings and Performance Traction Management (PTM) with multiple traction control options. It is accessible quickly via a steering wheel button and intended for performance and track driving.
Customization details vary depending on equipment like the Magnetic Ride Control suspension and performance exhaust. You can set these modes via the center console knob (for standard modes and My Mode) and the Z-Mode button on the steering wheel. Both modes save your personalized settings across ignition cycles.
Z-Mode is especially useful for track days, allowing quick toggling between complex performance settings, including different traction management profiles, while My Mode is perfect for setting comfortable and personalized daily driving parameters.
To configure My Mode and Z-Mode, access the infotainment system:
Settings > Vehicle > Drive Mode Customization > My Mode or Z-Mode, where you can adjust engine sound, steering feel, suspension stiffness, powertrain response, brake feel, and traction control to your liking.
This flexible system gives the C8 Corvette a range from relaxed touring to aggressive track performance tailored to the driver’s preference and conditions.

You do have the performance exhaust. Standard with Z51 .

The Z51 package on the C8 Corvette always includes the performance exhaust. The performance exhaust is part of the Z51 Performance Package, which also adds Brembo brakes, performance suspension, a performance rear axle ratio, electronic limited-slip differential, aerodynamic aids, better tires, and enhanced cooling. The exhaust system included in the Z51 package is a dual-mode valved performance exhaust that increases horsepower from 490 to 495 and torque from 465 to 470 lb-ft, offering a more aggressive sound and better performance than the standard exhaust.

If you shut down in tour mode and restart the main flaps in the exhaust are closed I believe. Fairly quiet after the first couple of seconds. If you have the exhaust set to track in my mode and shut down it will restart with the exhaust open. Your neighbour will love it…. :rolleyes:

You know that was an 08 SLR convertible I bought it in 2016 sold it in 2019 I drove that thing for Vancouver British Columbia at the fort Wayne Indiana which is crazy for an SLR but nothing went wrong except for the 115 mph ticket I got in South Illinois, however I've never heard of anyone driving an SLR that far and back that's what you get for being kind of young and very stupid I traded it in after the $8,000 oil change and it was due within 7 months for the $25,000 spark plug change which includes removing the engine it was too bad because the 5.4 l twin turbo lithium twin screw supercharger made a noise like nothing else either way they gave me a brand new db11 Aston and 150,000 cash plus plus the tax on the $335,000 Aston would have been close to 100,000 in this idiot province so in a way I have half a million for it which is probably at the time what it was worth now it's a million dollars for that particular model
 
This among other mistakes in the past with other brands is why I decided to go American and go Corvette the best of American sports cars no more f****** around with $5,000 tail lights and $1,000 trunk release buttons etc etc thinking all f*** off nothing can go wrong with this Corvette that'll ever compare with the repair costs of those cars which I've had many

People might ask me why didn't you get the Z06 or ZR1 I could have but I really didn't see the advantage I'm sure I'll get bummed out for that on this website from Z06 owners but I found the 3lt good enough
