Not having to deal with tire kickers and joy riders is honestly worth taking a bit of a hit by trading in imo too. There are a lot of stupid people in the world so selling can be a huge pain.

Problem here in BC is taxes: GST, PST and a luxury tax: 7%, 5% and LT depends on the price over $55K I think - 10%?? I think it is all imbedded in the PST - not sure. Bottom line: expensive cars we pay a lot and in January if JT new luxury tax goes through - even more expensive. I paid $86K for my C7 in 2016 and got $60K trade-in after 51/2 years - mind you it was immaculate.
