MRC vs Standard Suspension

Mag ride makes a huge difference. I had it equipped on my C7 and now also on the C8 and its even more refined for this new generation. I drive it on track mode 80% of the time since I like the control that it provides (very harsh ride on tack mode). It will shake and spill all of your drinks in track mode. If you put it into touring mode, it will drive like a sport luxury car and your drinks will not be shaken to the point that it will spill all over (coffee for example). The contrast between touring, sport and track is night and day. It actually feels like a different car in each of the mode. I hate to say it but without mag ride, the car feels one dimensional and makes the mode selector knob not as useful as it can be in terms of changing the car's driving dynamics.

But on a base car, (NON Z51)with Mag ride ,does it make a real differance. The base car already rides like tour mode if not softer, but all the time.So will mag ride make it ride stiffer in sport mode or the same as a base car?And what happens in Tour Mode?Softer the base car without mag ride?

I don’t have it on my C7 and find that in hard cornering the body will roll a bit. Decided to order it on my C8 as it is supposed to give a better adjustable ride according to those who have had Vettes both with and without Mag ride. When you look at the cost adder of $2,180, it’s minor compared to the total purchase cost of the car so if you can afford it, it’s probably worth it.

I don't have it and I'm glad. The car rides and corners like it's on rails. If anything it might make cracks in the pavement easier on the bones, but I honestly can't think the car could be much better

For the $2180 I ordered it on my HTC and figure if it's used on their C7R, C8R and the fact Ferrari licenses it from GM it's got to be worthwhile!
If you can afford it, fine. I couldn't so I didn't and I don't miss what I don't know. ;)

Hello All - new to the forum for the second time.
I was looking into the same question as to whether MRC would make a difference on a base C8.
Unless I missed something, I am not sure if that was actually answered here today ? I heard that the base C8 rides very smooth as is and the MRC would be more beneficial when coupled with the Z51 package.
I won't be tracking my car , - just used as a weekend cruiser ( where comfort may out-weigh performance in my case ).
I am likely over a year away from getting a car as I just put my deposit down for one last week and was trying to find an answer to this.
Cheers

My C6 Z06 wasn't equipped with mag ride, and for the most part it was not something that I really wished I had. But there would always be the occasional drive downtown Toronto that shattered my spine on rough pavement.

As some other people have said, if you can afford it, check the box. It's an option you can't add down the road, and the system works so well.

IMHO... I find the more aggressive you drive, the more you will notice the difference. If you want to improve lap times, it's a game changer. Taking it to the extreme, here's one of the cooler advantages of Magnetic Ride Control called "Flying Car Mode"
