Has anyone lowered their C8 in Toronto or the GTA? I received a quote from a shop in Scarborough
that will lower the coil overs, install the paragon springs and do an alignment for $1500.

Anyone else??

Thanks

That’s super expensive it’s an easy job minus the $150 alignment

Did you get the quote from the place you bought the springs, I assume that’s Champion

It's been years but I had suspension work done on my C3 (have a C7 now) at this specialist shop in Scarborough. Very honest & reasonable when I dealt with them...I think in fact my long time trusted mechanic recommended them.

You can (with the coil over wrench kit) dial it down by 3/4 inch. Then, by changing springs, you can achieve another 3/4 to 1 inch.

I've got Z51 and front lift so I used lowering collars from Paragon and adjusted the perch on the stock coilover. You can go lower if you change the springs.
My local dealer should be able to do it? But, you are saying I need to buy lowering collars - would the dealer not have these as well? I bough front grill guards from Paragon for my radiators: took forever and were expensive then had to pay another $55.00 upon delivery - PST & GST. Expensive grill guards - good quality. Lowering the C8 should not be a big deal from what I have read as the Z51 is set-up for this is wanted nes pas? Thanks for your feedback.

If you have front lift, then you need the collars from Paragon. There are other manufacturers that make them, but it's very unlikely that any GM dealer will stock this sort of aftermarket part.

If you don't have front lift, and just have Z51 or stock suspension, then yes, no parts necessary. Your dealer can compress the spring, and adjust the perch in.

Champion Motors in Scarborough is the Canadian distributor for everything Paragon, way cheaper than going through the USA

Good to know. I will add this name to my favorites Gilles. Thank you ... Jim

Then you need the collars to get you a 3/4 inch drop. The front coils need to be removed, disassembled, swap out the stock collar, re-assembled, and re-installed. Make sure whoever does the work measures the perch adjustment when they button everything back up, otherwise your car will sit lop-sided.

Like Gilles was saying - call Rob at Champion. He re-built my T56 on my Z06, tuned my '73 Camaro, and lowered my C8. They know what they are doing.

Now I am concerned about doing this because sounds not that simple? I will talk to my dealer's trained tech first. No place here in Vancouver and area that I know of that does this stuff. I'll ask a long time car guy corvette owner about this as he may know who to go to. Thank you everyone for your help. I am thinking of esthetics as I think the car would better a bit lower to the ground as I will not be tracking it. I wet to the Champion website - no listing of Paragon products just that they are a recent distributor.

These cars look really good lowered.

Yes looks great!!! I just watched the Paragon video on lowering with front lift and it is quite a process. I would want a garage to do it that has done some though. How much did you lower front & rear? Nice car. Just need spring to arrive eh?
