Question Low profile Jack

I have a low profile jack but reaching under the car from the front or rear will be difficult without Race ramps or 2X10's to get it high enough because the low profile jack won't reach far enough under the car without the rear higher part of the jack hitting things. You need to lift the car up from the sides on the lift points on the frame. Having two jacks would be helpful but one will do, just lift one side at a time a LITTLE at a time and use jack stands on the cradle near the front attachment point of the lower control arm. Or the near the rear attachment point of the rear lower control arm. Just don't lift the car at the center point of either the front or rear cradle. Lots of guys do it but I've seen them crack. FYI I have a two post lift and still use race ramps to lift it high enough to get the arms under the car. Race ramps aren't cheap but easy to use as they are very light and easy to use.

I baught a mastercraft low profile jack from crappy tire and have no problem jacking my c5 up from the front cradle. Or the rear cradle, and it has 18" of lift.

If you can get your jack under the front without a one inch stroke of the handle it's a pretty small jack. Are you lifting your car in the center of the cradle? If so this is potentially a problem as it could crack. I made an adapter for my jack that spreads the load so the 1500 lbs of stress isn't on the center for situations where I can't use the lift. You may never crack your cradle but I have seen it happen!
