Hello y'all!
I am looking for and would greatly appreciate Corvette Owner references for GM Dealership Service in the Calgary Area. My 40 minute drive South-of-Calgary GM Dealership does not sell Corvettes and apparently is not able to run Service with the tools/technology for the Corvette. With my 2016 purchase, I have 2 years of inclusive oil-service and I also need an airbag software recall remedy for my new gem. So it is necessary for me to re-establish a relationship with another GM Dealership in the YYC area. I bought my Corvette at Northgate in Edmonton and loved their drive-in and wait and watch Oil renew Service. I experience the same at Adams in Wetaskiwin during the Summer Months. However I need a Spring Oil Renew as I roll out in YYC and would really appreciate hearing from my Corvette Peers so that I can decide on the Dealership that should be worthy of the 'lawyer fees' that might be required beyond my inclusive GM Service. No worry, I won't hold anyone personally responsible for their testimony ... and sharing your relationship to your dealer would be appreciated (I.e. as solely a customer or are related to the dealership in another way) as references to any business is important when asked by them. Cheers and Thank You to all in advance ...

Ahhhhh.... the age old question for the Corvette owner... where to take your car for service... You shouldn't need to worry about 'lawyer' fees for a while as the warranty and the free oil changes should look after that for a bit. But finding a dealership you trust is a different matter. I have been using a local dealership and had an initial incident after the first oil change when the tech nosed my baby up over a concrete curb. He was extremely lucky as the car cleared the concrete by 3/4 of an inch. I used that 3/4 of an inch as the measurement of how close I came to killing the service manager. I think he may have soiled his underwear....lol... But I gave them another chance and since then they have been good. I also put my vehicle in Valet mode now when I take it in. They are unable to reset the oil life counter in Valet mode but I do that myself afterwards and it at least gives me a nice video of how they treat my car... lol...The software recall is a no brainer and took them no time at all. The other possible perk with this dealership is they have an avid classic Corvette owner about my age (mature...lol) in a management position who is also an Ambassador for the National Corvette Museum, which in itself means squat but I would hope that he would maybe have a sense of pride and take an interest that the dealership he works for has some duty of responsibility to have competent Corvette specialists on staff. But.... I am in Red Deer... and you are in Calgary... And that is just my experience.... I would love to hear some member feedback from the Red Deer area too.... Perhaps everyone, if you do have some dealership opinions that may not be stellar, lets maybe be careful slamming anyone and maybe PM each other for more pointed info.... Thanks.... and SN-III, if you do come here, let me know and we will go for coffee while you car is getting serviced...

Yes, I should have mentioned that ... it is not my intent to gain testimony of service chaos and/or disaster as that is often the norm of what I find with many online "customer feedbacks". My GM Dealer / Owner that I know South of Calgary just doesn't sell new Corvettes & Cadillacs so my preference for service isn't doable. I actually drove back to Edmonton for my first oil-renew but that is obviously not sustainable as an option (although I love the cruise and now have a bud to have coffee with half way there now - thank you!). I am calm with the service that I have upcoming ... it's just the thought of the experiences like I have had in my past with other vehicles and the greenhorn GM service techs getting the so-called simple oil renewing duties and not knowing how to reinstall a pan plug back on correctly. Your experience is a whew! Love your remedy and not-burning-the-bridge that just might need crossing in the future ... I am pretty sure I might just know where this is when driving straight in from the YYC highway and is now on my list for concideration ...

This is going back quite a few years, but I had some warranty work done on my C5 at Jack Carter and they were extremely careful and respectful of my car. I know that Shaganappi is also a fairly high volume Corvette dealer and have have heard good things from other Corvette owners about their service department as well. Hope that helps............
