Question looking for correct placement of bracket to attach air cleaner on 62 fuelie. require measurement from firewall to center of the riveted bracket on upp

anyone with a 58-62 fuelie that can help me find the distance from the firewall to the aircleaner attaching pad?
Replacing left fender and inner and no longer have the old pieces to compare. Was told it was about 16 in from firewall
but that does not seem right. If I could get a measurement from the firewall to the centre of the riveted mount it would be appreciated.

Here is a pic that might help. Car is in winter storage and not available for a measurement. I will ask my friend who has 2 in his garage.

Looks like 8" from windshield hood catch to rivet and from hood support bracket to rivet is 21"
as he replied back to me. See if this gets you in the middle. I looked in the Noland Adams restoration guide and there are several pictures in the 62 FI section showing this but no measurements.Hope this helps.

Ken,
My friend remeasured the distance after viewing your post description and the distance from firewall to the rivet is “14”
Hope this puts the box more in centreline with the Air Meter.

Hi Tom, that seems to be right. It would put the filter hose in direct line with the air meter.
Will slide the chassis under the hanging body to be sure before riveting.
