Hi,
While driving at night I noticed that the top of the gear shift and the hand brake lever glow with an orange/reddish light, after a bit of detective work it appears that the light is coming from a small light mounted in the passenger side visor mount, there is nothing in the driver's handbook about it, some info please:D Also can the dash lights be turned off completely? the way I read the driver's manual was that when in competetive driving mode the dash lights would go out, is this correct.

Thanks

What year is it ? Mine is a 2008 and I do not think it has one, And my dash lights do not go out in competetive mode

Rumour has it that the light you speak of was discontinued after the 2007 model. LED bulbs of different colors can be swapped with the OEM red bulb.

The car is a 2005 The dash lights, as far as I know the do not go out in competitve mode, but that is the way I read the owner's manual.

Thanks

The light you are referring to is called the courtesy light. Not too sure how long GM has been putting it in the Corvette but it's in my 2000. I think I had the exact same reaction as you when I noticed a slight glow in my interior and it wasn't due to any outside light.
