now that summer is here, instead of an airport lunch, anyone up for a meet at peterborough liftlock ? we can grab a bite at the chip truck and it's a great spot to snap some pictures. if you're in keith, can you get in touch with the usual suspects ? doug.

it's a nice spot colin, parking by the canal and watching the boats go up and down the big liftlock.......quite a feat of engineering for 1904. give us a shout if you can make it, if you like trainspotting, you would enjoy this.

For sure I will Doug. I lived on the Rideau Canal system (Smiths Falls) for years and loved watching the boats go thru.

We have Irish relatives until Saturday but should be able to get out for a get together after that. Dale's grandfather worked on the building of the Peterborough liftlock. On July 6th there is a car and motorcycle get together along the canal in Campbellford. It's under the trees where you can watch the boats or cars. There is a little air museum on a side street with all sorts of neat stuff.

maybe we can pick a nice day next week ? this week is kind of hectic for me too. bert will be digging this morning and the basement guys won't be far behind him. perhaps you'll want to swing by with your folks to see the action and say hey to your cousin bert ?

peterborough liftlock is on ashburnham street just north of lansdowne street. nice spot by the canal to take some photos. i'll be there about noon, if it gets too hot we can head somewhere air conditioned. doug.

Noon it is. Dan and Pat should make it too with his new pride and joy. Then again, I don't know how good my directions are. Dan might end up in Norwood. Dale and I stopped by Dan's place on our way to Kingston on Saturday. Dan wasn't home but his wife showed us their new Corvette. It is in absolutely show room condition. Gorgeous car.
