Key Fob buttons paint is peeling

Key Fob buttons paint is peeling, started to notice it few months into the ownership. Car was delivered May 2021, now has 10,000km, and was driven for only 10 months in total.

Do you guys think this is covered under warranty? I plan to go to the dealer on Wednesday to see if they have a solution.

I use lock, remote start and HTC open. The worse for wear button is the open frunk which I used maybe 4 times in total

Typical GM, my Honda fobs are 10 years old and still good. You would think for a $100,000.00 car they would be more durable.

Mine have shown no sign of what you are seeing. I stick mine in my pocket and virtually never use it.
Maybe you shouldn't snuggle with it in bed at night!
Definitely try and claim warranty on it.

Same here. In my pocket with nothing else in my pocket for it to rub against. Rarely push the buttons.

I have 8 K on my '22 and the symbols are still mint. What else is in your pocket with the fob? Something abrasive is wearing the paint off. One option is get a silicone sleeve for that specific fob. It will have the same symbols on it.

Nothing else in the pocket ever. that sleeve won’t work for HTC but thanks

that's awesome, thank you. I will speak to my dealer on Wednesday see if they can replace it under warranty and will buy the sleeves

Update: my dealer’s service department looked at the key, showed it to the service manager and came back to tell me that they will order a new key fob under warranty.

I had the same issue with mine after about 6 months from new. My dealer Wilson Niblett replaced it under warranty
