Wonder if the plant tour explains that list for why? It would perhaps be interesting if they do this for assembly machinery logistics, for workers’ assembly reasons or something along the line of the appearance of old assembly line photos with the same looking vehicles coming across as being the only option off the line. Looking forward to getting down there when tours start back up as I didn’t get a chance with previous generations.
I always observe cruise parking photos always looking better with random corvette specs and c-gens parked side-by-side than when all the same colour are side-by-side (as an example). JMO

If you mean why they only build so many certain type cars at the same time etc. There is an answer.
It all comes down to plant efficiency. From John at MECF

1) Re HTC’s “no more than two in a row.” When in 2020 GM started the HTC production, they were making them at least 5 VIN’s apart. It now looks as if over the last 2 1/2 years, they are able to do two in a row, but not that third one behind those two — with of course that meaning that it takes of the line assembly specialists more time building HTC’s than coupes.

2) Re Z07’s “no more than two per hour,” I asked a member of the Corvette team this morning and he feels that that applies not literally only to Z07’s but also applies to all standard Z06’s which get either complete aero package (T0F or T0G).” This makes common sense that the additional of the time for those aero packages is for the dive plane install and well as the extra time to install bracketry within the rear fascia for the high wing’s install.

However, since we have seen the current 10% annual constraint on both the T0F and T0G cars, the two per hour BGA build restriction is not the limitation, i.e., 2 per hour x 8 hours per day = 32/day= equals at least 6,400 per year and there is candidly no way in hell that GM’s supplier can build 6,400 complete aero packages this production year. Looking at this another way, that two per hour build rate for these cars is merely how GM needs to schedule cars down the line and is not a limitation for us customers.
