Do any of you recall 2/3 years ago on the Barrett/Jackson when the 2 cars and transporters were sold as a set? Can’t recall the final selling price but it was pretty high I remember. Anyway,I seem to recall while on the block,Don was talking about a “coming soon” Hot Wheels set of both cars. Well it looks like those words were true. Early this morning in Walmart I came across these. $17.97 each.

Cool collectables!
At the Barrett Jackson, bidding got up to, and stopped at $1M. Reserve was not met. Didn't sell.
There's a possibility R. Hendrick paid more after the auction to buy the units. He's the current owner.
Thanks Axe. I believe you are correct. Thanks for the 411. Here’s some pics I took awhile ago.

Don't usually buy this stuff anymore but I am going to look for these. Cool find Mikey.
@Black 03 Z06 @nascar03 If you guys are interested,I’ll pick up a set of these for you in my travels. I went back yesterday and they were gone though. As much as I like both the vintage sets,I'm keen on the MOMO Porsche 962. That’s what I’m on the hunt for. I haven’t decided on the McEwan/Prudomme set but as you can see, they’re pretty nicely done.

Murray,I took the liberty yesterday of picking the Snake/Mongoose set for you. My August plans won’t get me to @nascar03 s place before you get on the Titan... Cruise ship I mean :Spit: but if I can make “West fest”,they’ll be there when you get back. We’ll see what that week of August looks like.

I looked in Walmart North Battleford the other day and nothing. Since this thread is Snake related I'll show you guys what I bought in Sears about 20 years ago. Pretty cool toy I must admit. It is powered by 4 "D" batteries. It plays the actuall recorded race at Lions in LongBeach California 1970. He announces the body is coming up on the Barracuda so he can prime the injectors etc and the body actually lifts up , you can hear the engine fire up and the headers all light up flickering , the motor actually turn the blower , the car starts rocking , the body comes down , it does a burnout and the rear wheels spin while the announcer is describing what is going on, he stages the car the engine is revving loud , the tree lights up and the car pops a wheely and comes down after doing a 6.90 187 mph. It is something to watch and hear it all happen as it really did back then. Takes about a minute from start to finish.
I guess it is a rare toy but I just looked on ebay and there is one on bids right now at 400 usd and climbing , unreal.

Here's a video of it in action I found on the net, enjoy : 1998 Hot Wheels Legends to Life Snake Prudhomme Animated Funny Car

.........I was into collecting 1:18's back then, seen this in the show case in Regina Sears , there were 2 of them, but a little over 200 bucks I thought was steep, but I treated myself not knowing what I bought. When I opened it up and seen all the tricks it does I was floored and knew this would be worth some money later. I called Sears for the other one but it was gone, never seen another untill the one on Ebay right now. So if you want one go bid on it. I think the guy in the video wants 600 usd for his. It is cool. The Mongoose only was the car and did not do all this stuff.
