I gotta say... as much as wanted to be knocked on my azz with this car; I’m not. It hopefully looks a whole lot better without that camo and have some seriously huge updates from the C7 as I’m not sure I’m in love at this point.

The hype that went into this car is astounding and GM better make it worthy of it or there might be trouble in paradise.

At this point I’m not wasting 10 minutes to get on a bidding list for this thing.

Time for GM to put out a proper teaser and show us the damn car already as I’m thinking people are getting tired of the hype. Ok obviously I am. 😃

Welcome. It's been a little lonely at this party ... first drink is on me @ddgermann 🥂

The appeal of the carrot does eventually wear thin I will agree. 🙄
C8 will have appeal by many I am sure ... I might be a little late arriving at that party though.
I will most certainly enjoy the show nevertheless :Lurk5:

Price Point will determine saleability. Saleability will determine wantability.....Enough people buy them, then more people will want them. Human nature. I want what you have....

I agree to a point. Some just want the newest and best. Me for instance. I don’t care what someone else has as I knew I wanted a black corvette and the best one available at the time. I never considered the price at all on my last one. That’s not meant to sound arrogant it’s just how I roll. Played the game with the 2 previous corvettes and kept looking up at what I really wanted. The last one was all in and exactly what I wanted.
If I buy a C8 it will be the same.
That said not everyone is a 55 year old child like me. You’re really right about the pricing on the C8 as many folks are responsible and practical thus won’t fork out for this car if it’s priced out of the park for the same performance you get in a C7.
We will see. 😬

Any car's performance is limited by the roads you travel. Haven't found one yet that will let me stretch my foot muscles. The best one I like is a double "S" curve going up hill. Better than going downhill as there is a stop at the bottom. Trouble is that it is rated a disheartening 60KPH. Still great feeling to pull a 100KPH going up.
So unless you track it I doubt we will ever see the full potential of our cars. Except for those who were/are lucky enough to go to Ron Fellows.
As to being a child like you Derek I think that most of us guys and probably some of the gals like to keep on feeling young. At my age though I am feeling closer to God so I might slack off on the pedal a bit. LOL

I have had the car on a track and ya... the performance was felt and loved. ❤️
Obviously the public roads are no place to test that as if the cops don’t get you the potholes will. Not to mention how irresponsible that is. Even for myself it’s a no go. I couldn’t manage knowing I wiped out someone.
But we derailed the thread Richard.
Ok I’m out. Let the real experts continue the topic. 😂

I have to agree. I'm not loving the overall lines on the C8. I think GM hit a home run with the C7 ... but not so sure about how the C8 will do sales wise. There will be some, no matter what the price, they have to have it. Others not so much. Even with a reasonable price compared to the C7, there is a strong following with the front engine vette.
Would I buy one, even if the pricing is reasonable? Unless the car is drop dead gorgeous (to me) I kind of like my C7, so not likely.

Ron Fellows Corvette Owners School. It was all a part of the purchase pricing on both Corvettes.
Attending the school was not optional like extended warranty was.
I witnessed Corvette driving anxiety change to excitement and thrill watching my Wife experience the school.
We each now enjoy the moments of driving to the reasonable limit of the road we are on.
The Corvette is a great way to reward oneself.
I resemble @ddgermann with his most recent purchase whereas I got a Ray with pretty much everything.
To want more, I'd have to go to the Z06 ... and so nothing left to desire ... well, until the add-on carbon fiber disease.
If/when a C8 ... I already know I won;t be looking at how little it costs ... it'll be how much to get it all.
Agreed with y'all that It must have curb appeal. I won't be able to fake my first reaction when I approach the real thing.
