Hey guys... sorry, haven't been around much. Way busy!!! Bought a new house, still working out of town on rotation etc etc etc...

Just thought I would say to the old gang... and the new one too!

I bought a new set of wheels... unfortunately couldn't do the Vette... they don't come with 4 doors (LOL) and I'm just not in the mood to have extra cars kicking around the house that barely get driven or stored.

Bought a new '14 Merc C63 AMG 507 sedan. It was the last sedan available from the factory that was coming to Western Canada.

Thought about the CTS-V but to be honest, I wasn't as impressed as I was with the Merc... plus Merc was offering 0.9%, a free set of extra AMG rims with snow tires and accidentally quoted me the car for base model C63 and forgot the $20k in options! LOL True story!!! They sent me an email when they realized and told me that Christmas came early for me HAHAHA

Hope to see the Vette contingent out at lapping days this spring and summer! Still love the cars! :coolgleam:

Anyhow, first impressions are amazing and I love the car. Still miss my Vette some but it will be a while now for a replacement. My wife made me promise, no more cars for a while!

Hope everyone has been well, had a great Christmas and that the New Year is bring promise for all.

Sounds great! I hear you with the chaos of work and a new house. I went through the same thing this year and I'm hoping to enjoy my Vette a lot more this year. Congrats on your purchase! I'm a huge fan of anything AMG! You'll have to post some pics.

LOL well... I was very careful how I announced my defection to another brand. But... understand that the weiner schnitzel comments will be forthcoming hahaha Been a while since I posted pics but will try to re-research it again and get some up! If you go on youtube and check out the video of the white '14 C63 507 done by the "Getawayer", my car is pretty much identical except I don't have the race stripe on the bottom and the perforated black series hood. He's got 2... a 10+ minute review of the car and another about 3 min long on a top speed run.

Still looking at different options for track days here in E-town. There's a group that runs on the new Castrol Road Course just outside of the city but MAN!!!... almost 1/2 the track is lined with concrete barriers!!! Insane... I heard this was due to the lack of completed landscaping late last year but I don't intend on playing on the track in a zero sum game with a $90k car any time soon. The other outfit that I was using last year is looking at leasing time on the Air Force base potentially... and THAT would be awesome!!! I have my dad on a list to get some race driving instruction through the same outfit. If there's any guys that want me to keep them up to date on here about track days... let me know and I will for sure. Love to spend some track time with some vettes! Still the best performance value and reliable car out there in my opinion!!!

It's a fabulous car to drive... but still not quite the "attitude" that my Z06 had!

It is quite "spirited" on the throttle for sure... most of these cars from the research i've done are very under rated by AMG. Most are hitting the rollers at around 440-460RWHP which is pretty impressive in my opinion for what it is. Quite a bit heavier than the vette was but the tranny shifts so quickly it's amazing. MB rated the car at 0-60 in the 4.3 range but it was tested by (I think it was) Road and Track and they got 3.7 out of it manually and 3.9 using the launch control. I think the weight of it kinda kills the top speed compared to a vette. I'd still put my money on a C6Z and a competent driver on a roll race.

The good part? So easy to drive, stupid amounts of torque and... 4 doors LMAO

I've heard those cars can be a bear on gas mileage. Have you got a feel yet for the actual mileage on the AMG?

Right now I'm getting 12.6l/100 km which I thought was pretty darn good But yes ... "Spirited" driving can extra values of under 10mpg LOL. They are also notoriously horrible on rear tires but really.... With only 255s on the back and that much power and torque, that's a no brainer :)

It's great to hang and chat and be the butt of some jokes for sure LOL. I've browsed some other forums and just wouldn't rather hang anywhere else, regardless if whether or not my vette was a past tenant in my garage or current :)
