heater problems 1998 c5

So heres the details if anyone can help , 1998 c5 with 6 speed and all stock . the drivers side heater blows cold no matter how hot i turn the dial up but the passenger side blows normal or hot as it should . if i disconect the battery for a while and drain everything in the puter it blows hot on the drivers side for a while then back to cold . i pulled the fuse by mistake for the hvac and it worked for a short time as well so i figure the same thing as doing the battery thing . the fluids are all up to snuff as well . any ideas and maybe what repair manual should a person buy to help maybe .

Its the control unit its self that has to be replaced .
Another common problem , that has been around for awhile .
Mine was replaced 3 time's under warranty .

LOL, I'll say common: mine was replaced to deliver it to me brand new.

so then should a person go for the ones they have rebuilt on ebay or where like corvete central type of place . i have the type that the soder lets loose on the back as i had that job fixed 3 years ago as well.

There are new ones out there that are better than the repaired ones . If you can't find one , then a refurb will do the job .

thanks will start looking as it is only fall but darn a little heat on the drivers side would be nice , couple weeks before the girl gets parked yet so drive baby drive lol.
