I have a friend in Oakville who is looking to sell a limited edition John Player race series street car. One of 50 made, I think.
Has anybody got information on what kind of price he should be asking?

Thank you

1000 dollars over the price of a similarly equipped or optioned car

the limited edition series are not worth any more than that

and in my opinion they are worth 2ooo less

not a model that was a big seller for good reason

i view the value attached to the buyers eyes for the stripe package, nothing more

my apologize to those who own one or any friends thinking of buying one

or wishing to be overly negative, just poor marketing and delivery,

have a nice day you all. 👍👍👍

Surely it's worth more than your assessment

🤷‍♀️you come on here asking for numbers

now you are upset?

surely. and I mean. surely you can provide some backup info to support your contention

have you looked at sale prices, have you any information to support your gut feelings?

they were a rather failed experiment on marketing

go to whatever circle car reaches in Ontario with your booster and put the John player up for sale and I am sure every second

spectactor will be lining up to get a bank loan

was there a bunch of features that would boost the price, uh no

they barely sold in the USA even though you could order them, they were not only not flying off the shelf but were a hard sell

MOST WHO BOUGHT THEM EITHER LIKED THE COLOUR SCHEME OR WERE RACE FANS

BOTH OF WHICH do not qualify now to raise the price

there was a carbon fibre edition convertible in Edmonton that sold for 23000 off Murphy cause I almost bought it

special editions are not necessarily special

so. what info do you have to support a premier other than I hope so Mr, boxster

much different car than the new ones, I have no idea, good luck with the sale and the info needed to help make a price point

Jeff. on my forth newer corvette , no info on older ones

Well my vote is that you post photos (lots) and more info about the car, such as mileage and the work that went into creating it. That way a "C4 fan" can better assess its potential value and better yet, perhaps you'll entice an interested buyer! It sounds like it's not amongst the original 56 made, but rather made from "spare" cars? Anyways, photos would be helpful, as always.

Like I said, info is spotty. I believe it is not a franken car. It was already street legal when bought. Straight out of the race series.
I will post photos and more info later when I get it.

Thank you

I believe it is one of the 56 not converted to racing spec.
50 were made into the race car, this is one of 6 not converted.
The care is spotless, not a fraken car at all.
He put a fire package, and the original race seats.
He has 3 sets of wheels.
From the other things he owns, this car will be flawless

It wasn't raced and it wasn't finished as a Player car. That hurts its provenance. He did some of his own work taking away from the originality of the car. It was an unfinished race car that he has modified himself.

Given all that I don't think its worth what a true Players car is worth....whatever that is.

I'm sorry, you can't change your original heading for a post.
I made a mistake, it is not John Players car.
It's a Corvette Challenge car.
One of the 5 not converted into a race car.

The car cam as is, form the series as a street legal car sold to the public after the series was finished. the car is pretty much as is from the series.

1 of 6 cars not prepped for racing.

Lol. It doesn't change the value though...

I had a Players Challenge Camaro. Sold it for $12k about 5 years ago. Its value was slightly above market for an average car of the same vintage. Tried selling it for a long time as the market is very small. Im guessing the Vette falls in the same category. Worth about what an average C4 is worth and will take longer to find a buyer.
