After 4 months of hibernation and installing a catless Borla x-pipe during the "sleep", I decided to start my car as it was a fairly warm day yesterday. I was a little hesitant because of the potential noise from the x-pipe. I also have ARH mid length headers, a Halltech carbon cai and B & B Bullet exhaust with the NPP valves and actuators deleted. I have read numerous threads where the new x-pipe produces a louder exhaust. I pushed the button and a wonderful symphony of engine muscle gurgled out. The initial start was a bit of a bark, but the car soon settled into a nice low growl. Actually, it sounds much better with the new x-pipe then with the stock x-pipe with the cats. Another month of sleeping then it's fun time.:D

You just had to tempt fate right? :Banghead:

I don't blame you and as you say it will not be long until "fun" time starts. Some of us will have to wait a little longer but that is just the geography of the country.

Great write up.

Above freezing means go to me. It is funny but, even with 24000 km on the car, I can't stay out of it. Took her for a run up and down the highway yesterday just to feel the new power out; loved it. Road dirt??? No problem whatsoever in giving her a good wash in this weather if need be.

The constant that never fades are the cars catching up from behind, slowing down and moving right in front, and then getting beside for a pic...don't bet that in itself is not challenging at times. One has to literally find an empty road to clean out the pipes in fear of cell phone videos...

Coming back from TO yesterday, it was 17 DegC at one point in Burlington.

That a boy!!! That's what they were meant to do! They feeling you get when you get to drive it again is always the same....intoxicating. I don't blame you.

Glad to hear (not literally but almost literally :D) that the x-pipe install was a success! I'm always jealous of how winter comes a solid month earlier to southern Ontario than out here.......but not so jealous of all the salt they use on the roads. :D

Lots of salt, not so good for our cars. We need a few days of rain to clean up the streets, followed by some decent temps... then the cars come out to play.

Oh man, I can't wait to have the cars come out and play! I'm slightly nervous as I have to bring my car out for the Draggins car show on Easter. Our Corvette Club is putting on a display of every generation of Corvette but as we are a very new club, we don't have a C2 which is too bad. Maybe next year.
Anyway, so far the temps look good, there's not a lot of snow, but we've had snow storms into April however it appears I should be able to get the car out of the show without too much drama.

It's been a long winter, tho for us, not too harsh but boring as heck without the vettes. Also can't wait to hear the burble of my exhausts (Corsa's) ....... Terry and I are both looking forward to a great vette summer after a rather stressful one in '15.

Won't be long now --- :canada:

Colin.

This calcium chloride brine that they spray on the roads isn't as easily washed away as road salt. It takes a good scrubbing to clean the winter vehicles. A car wash doesn't get the job done. I like to see 2-3 good rains before taking the car out in the spring. I've had musclecars since 1967. You would think that the novelty would wear off some over that time. NOT!! It's in the blood. No way to explain it. I guess if you have to explain it to a person, then they wouldn't understand anyway. ;)
