I have yet to sit in a new C8. Just looking for opinions on the seats? One of the reasons I would consider the GT2 seats as it seems that is the only way to get 2 tone seat?

Beg to differ. Gt2 and comp add lumbar and bolster adjustment and both have heating and cooling. I opted for Gt2. Awesome comfortable and adequate lateral support for spirited(read track) driving. While I have not tried a comp seat or Gt1, I ordered a balance between support and long drive comfort. Happy with my choice

Comp seats for me.

My C6 Z06 seats were rubbish. On the track, I would get flung around laterally and had to use my left foot on the dead pedal to anchor myself in the turns. After that ownership experience, I always went for a seat that was a bit more on the aggressive side in all my cars.

That said, the comp seats still don't have enough adjust-ability for my liking. Also, and maybe I'm just picky, but the seat warmers don't get hot enough.

If I had to do it all over again, I would still get the comp seats, but they aren't for everyone. My guess is that 95% of owners would find the GT2 seats more than adequate for street applications in both the looks and functionality department.

Nope You are wrong. The 2LTis what gives the lumbar / heated stuff. Not the GT2 GT1 seats.

This debate about C8 seats raged on for some time, in the beginning when pretty well NOBODY ordering a 2020 was able to sit on and try out any of them, including me so I read everything I could. The consensus back then seemed to be:

1. the comp seats were for track application however your body shape couldn't be too wide at the hips, otherwise if was a very tight/uncomfortable fit and you'd especially pay the price if using the car as a daily driver or on long trips. But those with narrower hips, were usually OK with the competition seats. But they definitely "hug" you more with the side bolsters and provide a firmer feel
2. Murray was one of the few who spent a few hours in both the GT1 and GT2 seats, "back in the day" and was adamant that each were just as comfortable. I've seen many others describe the GT2 seats as more comfortable pointing to what they assumed to be higher density foam and more support, so perhaps (?) it comes down to preference??? Either way, it sounds like the 2 might be fairly similar although as Murray says, they have a different look
3. if you order the 2LT package, you get heated/cooled seats with adjustable bolsters, so regardless of whether you have the GT1 or GT2 seats, the trim level will influence how the seat is set up
4. and yes, if you want the 2-tone interior, you MUST order the GT2 seats (or competition seats).

Here's a photo comparison, compliments of GM; hope this helps out:

LT2 is the engine ;)
2lt IS THE TRIM. LOL
Why GM decided to use those 2 terms is beyond me. They should have gone with 1LS and 2LS like other models in the Chevrolet stable.
And, for the record GM has stated the seat is the same with some cosmetic differences.

Yeah..its funny...I have heard people mix up the terms so many times for many many yrs

A lot of great stuff here. I would only add it might be worth viewing this video. I found it very useful when making my selection.

Thanks for posting. He says the GT2 seats come with the 2LT package which is not correct, they are optional!

Ya, chevy dude is not to be trusted. Everything out of that guys mouth should be taken with a grain of salt.

Both fair points. I guess I should have said that I specifically found the close-ups and side by side comparison useful and not so much the details. I also usually take anything from a US dealer with a grain of salt given our options can sometimes be different or at least packaged differently, but in this case, he was just wrong.

Why? Not that view him as the holy grail, but I didn't see anything that was completely ignorant? Or did I miss something?
He's the guy that had people turn on their Onstar while the cars were in BG parking lot under QC hold. Caused GM huge amounts of time and money having to replace batteries and programming in many cars. He is an ignorant idiot.

Missed that one. I did happen to catch the video of him bottoming out off the road when he was doing a 3 point turn.
