I think OEMs realised they lost the battle to own the in car navi/entertainment space a few years ago when they started adding carplay/android auto. Most are moving to pure Android as the base operating system + apps or QNX (less so) or whatever apple may have.I think we will see a complete switch to Google/Apple native systems in the next 3-5 years as car manufacturers realise that they have no hands to play in the mobility/connected car space other than enhanced telematics. This means a much more seamless experience where you don't need to plug in your phone to gain the mobility features you use today. Probably a couple of years away with GM, others are ahead in the game, I feel we will see this at the next minor C8 refresh a couple of years down the line.
