No longer a RUMOUR...fact as of Monday... GM to drop Pontiac in 2010, cut thousands more jobs I've had an 87 TA...a 90 Sunbird and a 03 Grand AM. I LOVED the TA!!!! (And still miss it) The Sunbird was ok, even though the temp gauge never worked from day 1. The Grand AM was a piece of crap. Prior to the Grand AM, I had a '00 Alero...which was a fantastic car! Only reason I turfed the Olds was cuz some jackass smashed into it doing 50 KMS while it was parked...it was never the same. What pissed me off was the Grand AM and the Alero were the same car...have the identical frame...same engine, braking system, suspension, etc...just cosmetic differences really...yet the Grand AM was never as "tight" as the Alero. Heck, if they had turned the Alero into a Chevy, I probably still would've tried another one of them. I am not surprised to hear Pontiac is going down...just another sign of a poorly run company. And while I know that a Pontiac isn't an Olds, Pontiac's quality has been slipping a lot over the years. They should turf BUICK too.
