Got most of the back end apart, I knew that the step son had put the car into the ditch once, as there was a visible crack on the fender and the inner fender wall.
Now that I have everything out of the way I see that it is cracked into the main structure. I can see daylight through the crack when I am in the car as the crack is offset.
Was wondering if I took a couple of pieces of 1 1/2 x 3/8 flat bar , drilled a couple of holes through them and sandwiched the crack between them, could I suck it together enough to fix the crack? Or would I end up cracking it further?
Would I need to loosen the body mount bolts to give it room to move? Really don't want to remove the body before this is repaired.
Also found a lot of cut wires, some capped others not, on the drivers side found this (relay?), which did have cut wires from it , guessing its for the power antennae?
As always any and all feedback is muchly appreciated

Thanks George

Hi George...
Do you have an assembly manual for your car?
It is an invaluable tool when working on a Corvette, or any car.
They are available for specific years and show how everything goes together, including wiring.
good luck with your repair/build.
