So easy. Pulled my fuse #18. Took 30 seconds and I use the pull cord under the dash anytime I wanna access the frunk. So easy and old school. All mechanical no electrical BS. Until GM gets to acknowledge there’s an issue. 
My guess is the mechanical latch opening cable is designed for occasional use only. I can only imagine the sorrow that will be heard throughout the land when the first one snaps. Repairing that bad boy will be no fun.
