Shop just informed and showed me that my front tires are down to the cords on the inner side of both front tires. Lots of tread left on the rest of the tires. Very dangerous and you would never spot in until it is on a hoist. Is this normal? I wouldn't think so. 34000 kms on the car. Rears were replaced by previous owner 6000 kms ago.

Yup pretty common Dan.

Go looking for an alignment thread on here is all explained well.
Your alignment must have been an aggressive track setup likely from the factory. The mileage matches what others have seen.
The threads will give you a more neutral set up configuration and lots of good information on what’s required to do a proper alignment on a C7.

I’ll have a look for a thread for you too.

Thanks dd!

Here Derek. I’ll save you the search for those alignment specs if that’s the thread your searching. I think it’s in the tire thread actually. @Dantanman These are the settings I was provided by @Jeffer2013 and @RockyPM

I would imagine they’re good for a C7 as Jeffy drives one. So far I’m happy. Just under 2000 kms and nothing noticeable yet. Fingers crossed.

Good stuff. Thanks Mike.

I'm on the road from AB. to NS with the trailer...Nope...no Vette... This is the first time I've had wi-fi since thursday so going through CCF withdrawls... Someday will have to start using a phone I guess... Anyhows...Here's a spec sheet I followed for my C7 castor and camber to avoid the inside tread wear...

Thank you. Hopefully a tire shop in Golden can follow this. Ordering new tires tomorrow.

On our 2005 our original Goodyears were wearing on the inside, obvious in less than 12K miles. When we had the new Firestone run flats installed, I had the Alignment Centre in Peterborough zero camber the front wheels. Feels the same to drive as before and, starting the fourth summer the tire wear seems to be pretty much even across the tire faces. I was told that the car might not be as stable above 130 mph. I'll never be tracking the car nor going any where near that fast on the highways so that isn't a problem for me.

On my 3rd set of tires and have always used the Pfadt street specs even tire wear and good handling even in that higher speed area. Glad to hear it's working for you Mikey. Eric looks to have the updated specs for the C7 settings. From other threads I recall a 4-wheel alignment should e done.

My tires are Z rated, Tire rack.com says Y rated are good to 300 kms an hour, more than enough for me if they happen to be less expensive!

New tires arrived, getting installed now, alignment on Tuesday, will share these specs with tire shop for sure!
