Front lift

Anyone that's taken delivery on their C8 with the front end lift have any comments good or bad on its operation and whether or not they would order it again?

I take delivery tomorrow and yes I have the front lift. I can comment after some drive time. But from all I have read from others. It is a very nice feature to have.

Took my new C8 HTC out today for first ride. Just love it! I feel I hit all the right order buttons on the order sheet except for one. Originally I ordered the front lift. After hearing feedback from others and looking at the cost of the front lift, I decided to take it off the order sheet. Kinda wish I didn’t do that now. I scraped the front end twice coming out of store parking lots in Port Perry this morning. It wasn’t a bad scrape as I was being careful but it still scraped. In my C7 vert, I don’t recall scraping the front end on these same spots. So it seems to me like the C8 is a little lower than the C7 was, at least less departure angle on the front end. So if you can afford the option, I would put it on.

I probably wouldn't option it again due to the price increase and I've never run into any serious issues with my C7 in terms of scraping. At the original price I thought it would be a good option for peace of mind and was worth it but not so much at the new increased price, at least for me.

Obviously its worth every penny for people that do live in areas where you scrape the front end.

I'm pleased with my front end lift. I use it twice/day minimum for my steep driveway at home. It automatically lowers after I leave once I'm around the corner from my (short) keyhole street and it's up just before I return. I've programmed it for a couple other locations so far: shopping centre speed bumps (aka: sport car front end scrapers). Decide whether it's necessary based upon the presence of "road hazards" where you'll be driving.

There is a Home Hardware driveway in Mount Albert that I scrape even with the Malibu! lol
It was a no brainer for us. Our Vet has a Vette (Pun intended) unfriendly driveway also.
Scrape me once, shame on you. Scrape me twice, shame on me. ;)

It's a great feature , yes, many places you could avoid scraping by driving super slow, taking an angle and and clenching your...neck.

But the lift is great to have (will operate below 40km/h and then auto lower once you pickup speed )

You can hear it in the cabin, but it's still a sweet feature . I would order it again .

I ordered it for my car, but I think it will not be that useful. Maybe I’ll change my mind when and if I put a CF front splitter on the car.

There are a lot of places you can angle your way up / down to avoid scraping, but not when there is other traffic waiting on you etc. I'd rather have the option even though it's cheaper to replace what's scraping than the lift option.

Agreed. I also think it would be good for resale too. Sometimes it's good to consider that angle as well.

Its a great feature to have and well worth the money especially if you lower your car and then put a front 5VM splitter on it. And if you purchase that splitter from GM or if you purchase it in real carbon fibre which are worth more than the lift it would be well worth it.
