FOB Proximity feature

Well, hello again, my fellow Vette enthusiasts. There has been this nagging question I have had in the back of my mind about the prox feature of the fob keys. I have not had my car for very long, but I’m not sure if I like the feature of it locking when I walk away from the car, and vice versa. It seems it could be an issue if, for instance, I stop for gas, etc, and my wife stays in the car. If I go out of range, and the car locks, would my wife set off the alarm just being in the car? If I remember correctly, this feature can be disabled, which I might do.
Dale.

Lol... You are correct Dale. I have mine set to lock when I walk away. After a couple of times at the car wash with Brenda sitting in the car reading and me out washing the car, she has set off the alarm. I like the lock feature though so all I do if she remains in the car is once I get out, I hit the unlock button on the fob. All good after that.

An alternative option would be to have your wives keep the second fob in their purse. That way, when you get out, the car will still see a key in the car and shouldn't lock the doors.
